Poets’ Corner Folkestone was set up in 2017 by Faith Warn, Dave Horn and Anthony White when we put on a ‘street’ open-mic outside Steep Street Café in the Old High Street. Since then we have been fostering poetry in the Folkestone community with street poetry, special events and a record-breaking twelve hour ‘Poetathon’.
Our core activity is a monthly poetry open-mic, which presently takes place on the second Wednesday of most months at Kollectiv, 169 Old High St.
at which we invite anyone and everyone to read and share their poems in a supportive community setting. We usually have about 20 poets taking part, some of them regulars, some newcomers.
